Our city's Animal Care & Control Officers are available for services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  They can be reached during normal business hours at 855-7479.

After hours emergencies can be handled through Lake Havasu Police Dept dispatch at 855-4111. 

Animal Care & Control Officers will respond to the following calls after hours:

  • Bite
  • Contained animal (no birds or rabbits)
  • Running loose dog, before dark only
  • Snake--inside home, posing immediate threat to people
  • Welfare--dog locked in vehicle with no ventilation, no water & hot temperatures
  • Any injured dog or cat

Animal Care & Control Officers cannot respond to the following calls after hours:

  • Barking Dogs--Reporting person may document barking times after hours and call to report during normal business hours
  • Birds or rabbits--Reporting person may contain the animal and bring to WAHS next business day during open hours
  • Running Loose dogs after dark--unless the animal is showing aggression

City Ordinance requires a rabies vaccination and license for all dogs residing within the City limits.
